Mission Statement - Milford Public Schools will prepare all students to be successful citizens: Our Mission is fulfilled when all students read with comprehension, speak and write clearly, compute accurately, reason logically, understand and appreciate the fine arts, apply suitable strategies and habits of mind to solve problems, utilize technology to communicate and to understand information and behave morally.

This is the public’s opportunity to speak to items on the agenda. This is also the public’s opportunity to speak to other non-agenda topics concerning the school district - since it is not an agenda item the board cannot discuss or take action on the matter at this time. To be recognized, all participants must complete the Request to Address the Milford Board of Education Form. The District has established separate complaint procedures for any complaints, including complaints and concerns against individual employees. As such, the Board requests that this complaint process be followed before discussion with the Board takes place. Thank you for your participation. |

7.1. Discuss, Consider, And Take All Necessary Action to Adopt Resolution Increasing the School District’s Base Growth Percentage Used to Determine the School District’s Property Tax Request Authority by Up to 6%
More Information:
This resolution increases our revenue authority for this year, and future budget years. By adopting this resolution we increase our authority only. This does not require us to levy the amount that is approved by this resolution.
Our current authority for property tax request is $8,258,226. An additional 6% is $689,226, which would bring our total authority to $8,947,726. Any unused authority from 2025-2026 will carry over into the 2026-2027 revenue authority. More detailed information regarding the law is provided in the attached memo from KSB.

Cornhusker International has quoted a 59-passenger bus at $134,850, with a 9-month delivery timeline. If the board approves, the bus should arrive before the 2026-27 school year. This is a first-come, first-served option and would replace our 1993 bus. The 1993 bus has 227,000 miles and Cornhusker International offered $1200 for trade in.
