Thank you for letting me attend FKC 1st round volleyball. The first quarter ends on Friday! Great 1st quarter.

I have not had the discipline issues I have been accustomed to the past few years.
Substitute shortage is everywhere, but everyone has been pretty flexible to help out.
1. We should think about competitive options to entice more substitutes to sign up
  1. One suggestion would be to pay subs as a long term sub after they have completed 10 days (Brady Public School does this as well as a couple of others).
  2. Pay more per hour to stay competitive with the surrounding schools.
2. Encourage our paras to all get their sub certificates

Parent Teacher Conferences
1. Preschool through 6th grade were all 95%-100% attendance
2. 7-12 teachers were 48% and lower. I don’t think there were 7-12 teachers above 50%.
3. Sporting events coincide with P/T Conferences. If we found a night with no activities our attendance would go up.
4. Mr. Squiers is looking into changing some corresponding dates…not much luck so far.
Grant funds
1. We were allotted several thousands of dollars last year for our SEL (Social Emotional Curriculum) needs.
  1. Purchased our current program
  2. Hired Logan Collin, Behavioral Specialist
2. We were informed 2 weeks ago that we still had a few thousand dollars to spend. So:
  1. We ordered a set of books for all staff (cooks, custodians, paras, ADMIN, teachers, bus drivers) and school board members. We also purchased a few extras for our regular substitutes. We will do a book study of sorts with this. More info to come. Enjoy your book! “Where to Start”
  2. We ordered books for ALL students and will incorporate these into our SEL program.
  3. We still had a few dollars left over that we could not get spent quickly enough. If we receive the grant this year, we have some more thoughts on using that money.
