STUDY AND VOTING SESSION - If a member of the public wishes to speak to one of the following voting items, please complete and return exhibit BEDH-E, Request for Public Participation in Governing Board Meeting to Sarah Torres, Administrative Assistant to the Governing Board prior to the study and voting session of the agenda. This document can also be found under the Governing Board tab on the PUSD website: https://www.prescottschools.com.
For items with the potential to have many speakers, the overall speaking time may be adjusted by the Governing Board. Speakers will be called to speak in the order in which they signed up, first come, first served. Requests to speak that are emailed will also be first come, first served. Email requests can be sent to sarah.torres@prescottschools.com at any time prior to the study and voting session of the agenda.

7.B.1. Consider approving the dates and time for Governing Board meetings for the year 2025, as presented.
RELEVANT INFORMATION: The Governing Board should annually approve a schedule for meetings for the following year (see attached 2025 meeting schedule). Pursuant to Governing Board Policy BEDA, a statement shall be conspicuously posted on the District's website specifying where all notices of the Governing Board meetings are posted, including the physical and electronic locations, and give additional public notice as is reasonable and practicable as to all meetings. 7.B.2. Consider approving an out-of-state travel request from Mrs. Ashley Tetreault, principal at Prescott Mile High Middle School, for students and chaperones to travel to Washington DC from June 2nd-6th, 2025, as presented.
RELEVANT INFORMATION: 32 Prescott Mile High Middle School students have signed up for this trip to participate in a dynamic, hands-on, civic education program in Washington, DC. This trip will provide extra opportunities and challenges to enhance student's educational experiences. Mrs. Van Demark, MHMS Social Studies Teacher, and Mr. Goldsmith, MHMS Assistant Principal, have been asked to chaperone. These staff members have already helped to lead several information meetings with parents and students and are helping to finalize the itinerary. This trip has been planned using WorldStrides, an educational travel company. WorldStrides has been creating educational travel experiences for over 50 years and has offered services and experiences to PUSD students in the past. Regular Study and Voting Session: To be announced (the PUSD Governing Board is being asked to approve the 2025 meeting dates/time in the study & voting session of this agenda). This meeting will be held in the PUSD District Office Boardroom. Other Dates: Governing Board Member Swearing-In Ceremony: Thursday, December 12, 2024 @ 11:00 am - PUSD District Office Boardroom. New Governing Board Member Orientation and ASBA Annual Conference: December 18-20, 2024 at the J.W. Marriott Desert Ridge, Phoenix, AZ. December 20, 2024: Half day for students and staff. December 23, 2024–January 3, 2025: Winter Break. |
