Description:  It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the regular meeting minutes of May 12, 2026, both executive session minutes from May 12, 2026, the regular meeting minutes of May 19, 2026, and the executive session minutes from May 19, 2026 with all executive session minutes to remain confidential. 

Description:  Mr. Jeff Dase, Deputy Superintendent, will recognize Denkmann Elementary School and Thomas Jefferson Elementary School for achieving "Well-Organized" status on the 5Essentials survey for the 2025 - 26 school year. 

Description:  Dr. Sharon Williams, Superintendent, will recognize 2026 - 27 advisory council members. 

Description:  Mr. John Hawley, Principal, will give a presentation on the Rock Island Center for Math & Science.

Description:  Dr. Sharon Williams, Superintendent, will give a presentation on technology use, social media and bullying. 

Description:  Requests from persons wishing to speak on certain agenda items will be called upon at this time. Citizens may also use this time to address the Board of Education on items not on the agenda. Comments should be limited to three (3) minutes.

Description:  Opportunity will be given for the selection of items that need no discussion to be approved at the appropriate time on the agenda.  The following items are recommended for the Blanket Motion:

Description:  It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the amended contract for service with Act II Transportation, 310 East First Avenue, Coal Valley, IL, from $225,000 to $260,000 for the remainder of fiscal year 26.

Description:  It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the purchase of curriculum materials and digital licenses from Great Minds, P.O. Box 20283, Pittsburgh, PA, in the amount of $160,059.08 for fiscal year 27.

Description:  It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the amended contract for service with Lexia Learning Systems, 17855 Dallas Parkway, Suite 400, Dallas, TX, from $56,506.37 to $119,726.37 for fiscal year 26.

Description:  It is recommended that the Board of Education approve a spending increase with SAVVAS Learning Company, 55 Washington Street, Suite 800, Brooklyn, NY, from $91,253.36 to $110,253.36 for fiscal year 26.

Description:  It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the purchase of curriculum materials and digital licenses from SAVVAS Learning Company, PO Box 6820, Chandler, AZ, in the amount of $47,510 for fiscal year 27.

Description:  It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the amended contract for service with Tri-State Travel, 530 W. 76th Street, Davenport, IA, from $70,000 to $85,000 for the remainder of fiscal year 26.

Description:  It is recommended that the Board of Education authorize bills for payment dated May 15, 2026, in the amount of $4,783,792.79.

Description:  It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the attached list of donations.

Description:  It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the certified appointments of Adrienne Anderson and Lori Lefebvre for the 2026 - 27 school year. 

Description:  It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the non-certified appointment of Alexis Stovall for the 2025 - 26 school year. 

Description:  It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the certified internal transfers of Gail Gant, Dionne Lohmann, Shannon Hudson, and Jamie Pilichowski for the 2026 - 27 school year.

Description:  It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the certified coach appointments of Pharoah Gay, Melanie Martinez, Matthew McCarthy, and Andrea Parer for the 2025 - 26 school year. 

Description:  It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the non-certified coach appointment of Calvin Larson and Robrina Taylor for the 2025 - 26 school year. 

Description:  It is recommended that the Board of Education accept the certified retirement of Sylvia Cooper, Cross Categorical Teacher at Edison Junior High School with thirteen (13) years of service, effective June 3, 2027, Tonya Hanrahan, Cross Categorical Teacher at Rock Island High School with eight (8) years of service effective June 4, 2026, and Wendy Kerker, Sixth Grade Teacher at Ridgewood Elementary School with twenty-six (26) years of service, effective June 4, 2026.

Description:  It is recommended that the Board of Education accept the certified resignations of Rachel Carr, Fourth Grade Teacher at Frances Willard Elementary School, with four (4) years of service, effective June 4, 2026, and John Hawley, Principal at Rock Island Center for Math and Science, with four (4) years of service effective June 25, 2026.

Description:  It is recommended that the Board of Education accept the certified coach resignation of Jarrin Williams, Head Boys Track Coach at Rock Island High School with ten (10) years of service effective December 19, 2025.

Description:  The district received a FOIA request and responded within the required timeframe to Mike Adams, who requested video surveillance footage from February 5, and March 4, 2026, from Edison Junior High.

The district received a FOIA request and responded within the required timeframe to Lisa Melton, who requested video surveillance footage related to an incident at Earl Hanson Elementary School. 

Description:  It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the PRESS 121 Board Policies received from the Illinois Association of School Boards as presented. 

Description:  It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the contract recommendations from Russell Construction as presented to complete sitework at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School for an overall cost of $1,179,431.

Description:  It is recommended that the Board of Education move to executive session to discuss pending litigation, when an action against, affecting or on behalf of the particular public body has been filed and is pending before a court or administrative tribunal, or when the public body finds that an action is probably or imminent, in which case the basis for the finding shall be recorded and entered into the minutes of the closed meeting. 5 ILCS120/2(c)(11). In addition to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1). 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(9): Student disciplinary cases. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(10): The placement of individual students in special education programs and other matters relating to individual students.
