5. REQUEST TO CONSIDER APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION DECLARING SURPLUS PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF 505 3RD ST SE, GLENWOOD: (ACTION) (APPENDIX) (ROLL CALL VOTE)
Description:
Administration is recommending that the School Board declare the property located at 505 3rd St SE, Glenwood, Minnesota, as surplus property and authorize its sale. The property is no longer needed for current or anticipated district programming, operational use, or long-term strategic planning purposes. Retaining the property results in ongoing costs to the District, including maintenance, insurance, utilities, and general oversight. Selling the property would eliminate these expenses and allow the District to redirect financial resources toward its primary mission of educating students. In addition, the sale of the property supports responsible stewardship of public assets by returning the property to productive private use and generating revenue that may be applied toward district needs in accordance with Minnesota law and board direction.
