3.1. Bromm Updates

Discussion:
Jason Bromm gave a report regarding current legislative hearings. He has been reviewing budget reports, specifically how ESUs will be affected. Dave will meet with Jason later this week. It was noted that construction at the Capitol is causing senators to move to different rooms. Jason has offered space for meetings if needed.
There have been some staff changes: Arnsperger is a new staff person at Senator Walz's office. Election update: No changes or updates at this time. K-3 Reading program: No updates at this time. Dave has also checked with NDE and is waiting to hear back. Committee discussed how individualized the ESUs are and how the unique characteristics of each ESU is necessary in different areas of the State. |

Scheduled for February 13, at Bromm & Associates Conference (lower level), from about 7:30 a.m. to about 2:00 p.m. Committee discussed possibly serving coffee/donuts in the morning and a luncheon. Details to be determined.

3.3. Federal Advocacy Meeting (September 26-28, 2018)

Committee Chair shared a update from the Federal Advocacy meeting. ESUs 3, 7, 13, 15 were present for the meetings. They attended the Senator breakfast and also were able to meet with each of the Nebraska Senators. There were impressed how our Senators were very attentive to listen to our story. It is advantageous to have ESU Administrators attend this meeting. It was a good experience for those that attend. The value of this meeting comes in the networking.
