8.a.I. INFORMATION/ACTION: Withdraw from ED RED
Description:
Rationale: House Bill 4606 would make significant negative changes to Section 10-20.12b of the Illinois School Code, relative to student residency. If passed, this bill will create additional hardship on Lincolnwood as well as other local school districts as they attempt to address residency issues, which annually cost taxpayers thousands, perhaps millions of dollars. ED RED, the District's political lobbying group, has, apparently, taken a stance supporting this unhelpful bill. Recommended Motion: I move that the Lincolnwood School District 74 Board of Education approve withdrawal from ED RED. Motion by Member: _______________________ Seconded by: _______________________ |
