I. CALL TO ORDER
Description:
Jim Bednar, Board President, called the meeting to order.
Good Evening. In order for us to conduct this virtual meeting effectively, I ask all participants to MUTE themselves. We will follow a process of calling on members for thoughts and input. Board Members may unmute at any time to ask a question. Member of the public, we are soliciting your input via email at BOE@d23.org. IV. RECOGNITION OF VISITORS AND PARTICIPATION
Description:
At each regular and special open meeting, members of the public and District employees may comment to or ask questions of the Board of Education. If you would like to address the Board, please email your comments or questions to BOE@d23.org. The Board will be prepared to address those comments related to the agenda within a reasonable time.

V. PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING 2020 TAX LEVY
Description:
President: “On November 11, 2020 the Board of Education adopted an estimated tax levy for 2020 as developed by the Asdsistant Superintendent for Finance & Operations and the Finance Committee. At this time the Board wishes to conduct a Truth-in-Taxation Public Hearing for the purpose of allowing anyone to address the Board regarding the 2020 Certificate of Tax Levy.”
OPENING: “May I please have a motion to open the Public Hearing on the 2020 Certificate of Tax Levy?” Motion: I move to open the Public hearing on the 2020 Certificate of Tax Levy. IX. FINANCIAL REPORT
Description:
Attached is the memo recommending payment of the voucher lists for materials, supplies, and services paid since the last BOE meeting. In addition, the District payments for salaries and insurance benefits during the previous month are included for approval. Those documents are all included for your review.

Description:

X.B. Adoption of 2020 Tax Levy - ACTION
Description:
At the November 2020 meeting of the BOE, a presentation was made and the tentative levy for 20120 was approved. Tonight the Administration recommends approval of the 2020 Tax Levy and the 2020 Supplemental Levy for Debt Services presented.
I make a motion to approve the 2020 Tax Levies as presented.

X.C. Approval of Annual Insurance premium for Property and Liability Coverage with SSCIP - ACTION
Description:
Annually, the Board is asked to approve the payment of the premiums for property and liability insurance. The attached documents are provided by our provider as supporting information.
I move to approve the 2020-21 Premium for the District's property and liability insurance with the Suburban School Cooperative Insurance Pool insurance cooperative.

X.D. 2020-21 Calendar Update - ACTION
Description:
The Calendar Committee met on November 18 and is proposing three adjustments to the 2020-21 school calendar.

X.E. Extended Day Program Fee Review - INFORMATION
Description:
Mrs. McPartlin and EDP Director Kris Lebrecht have prepared an overview of program enrollment and services as well as opportunites for new programming during the 2021-22 school year. At this time, administration is not recommending an increase in fees for the 2021-22 school year.

X.F. Annual Immunization Compliance Report - INFORMATION
Description:
The Annual Immunization Compliance Report is filed with ISBE and shows 98.7% compliance. Our nurses track and document immunization records and exemptions while supporting parents to access required services. At the time of the reporting, 9 students were excluded due to noncompliance. Those students are participating in Distance Learning only.

X.G. Annual Statement of Affairs - INFORMATION
Description:
The Annual Statement of Affairs is required annually. It must be posted on the District's website and published in a local newspaper. The Annual Statement of Affairs is a summary statement of operations of the District reporting monies received by the District, monies spent by the District and paid to personnel by the District.
