Description:
Jim Bednar, Board President, called the meeting to order.
Good Evening. In order for us to conduct this virtual meeting effectively, I ask all participants to MUTE themselves. We will follow a process of calling on members for thoughts and input. V.D. MacArthur Unified Program Recognition
Discussion:
MacArthur Middle School has been recognized as an official Special Olympics national banner Unified Champion School! Congratulations to Abby Lynch, Dr. Sroka, and all of the staff and administrators who have been so dedicated and passionate about bringing this program to our community.

VII.D. Presentation of the Employee Information System (EIS) Report
Description:
Pursuant to Section 10-20.47 of the Illinois School Code, each school board must report to the Illinois State Board of Education, on or before October 1 each year, the base salary and benefits of the district superintendent and all administrators and teachers employed by the school district. Prior to filing this annual report to the Illinois State Board of Education, the information must be presented at a regular school board meeting and then posted on the Internet website of the school district.
Please accept this report which is being posted on the District's website and reported to the Illinois Teachers' Retirement System as required by law.

VIII. FINANCIAL REPORT
Description:
Attached is the memo recommending payment of the voucher lists for materials, supplies, and services paid since the last BOE meeting. In addition, the District payments for salaries and insurance benefits during the previous month are included for approval. Those documents are all included for your review.

IX. PUBLIC HEARING ON 2020-2021 ANNUAL BUDGET
Description:
On August 12, 2020, the Board of Education reviewed and approved the Tentative Budget for the 2020-2021 school year as drafted by the Business Office in consultation with the Finance Committee. In accordance with legal requirements, the Board published that the adopted Tentative Budget would be available for public inspection for a period of not less than 30 days.
At this time the Board wishes to conduct a Public Hearing for the purpose of presentation of the 2020-2021 Annual School Budget and to allow Board members and others to address the Board regarding the 2020-2021 Annual School Budget. May I please have a motion to open the Public Hearing on the 2020--2021 Annual School budget. Description:
We are monitoring guidance documents, survey feedback, and Community Spread data to update our Back to School Blueprint and models of instructional delivery. Administration will present an update to the Board including dates for eLearning Planning Days, Rolling restart, and plan modifications.

Description:
Dr. Amy Zaher, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, has prepared an overview of C&I department topics including adoption cycle, committee work, professional development and assessment.

Description:
A summary of enrollment and class size data will be provided for the Board based upon 10 day enrollment. No changes or modifications to the staffing plan are recommended at this time.

X.D. Approval and Adoption of 2020-2021 Annual Budget - ACTION
Description:
Earlier in the meeting the public hearing for the Fiscal Year 2021 school district budget was held. Based upon the tentative budget being presented on August 12, 2020, the public being notified in the newspaper and on the website as required by law and the budget having been displayed for the minimum 30 days as required by law, the Board is ready to vote on the District budget for Fiscal Year 2021.
I move to approve the Prospect Heights School District 23 Fiscal Year 2021 budget as presented.

X.E. 2020-21 Calendar Revision
Description:
Revision to the 2020-21 school calendar to include the use of three eLearning Planning Days as provided by the State. These will be days of non-attendance for students and used for collaborative planning by staff. The modified calendar includes eLearning Planning Days for: October 19,November 16, and December 14.
