5.1. US Department of Fish and Wildlife Arts National Award
Description:
Karina Orillo, a junior from the Robbinsdale School District who attends North Vista, has been awarded 3rd place in the US Department of Fish and Wildlife national art competition for which there were 591 entries. Karina’s painting depicts seven endangered species of wildlife. In attendance to present the award is Tony Sullins from the US Department of Fish and Wildlife.

5.2. Spotlight DVD Presentation
Description:
The 2011-2012 Spotlight on 287 Programs and Services video will be previewed. The theme this year is how District 287 focuses expertise and attention in order to create positive outcomes. This video also will be available to Board members for use with their own district’s Boards and staff.

6.1. Comprehensive Arts Planning Process Arts Grant (Action)
Description:
Board member Michele Kunz and Executive Director of Teaching and Learning Dr. Jane Holmberg will present for Board approval the Comprehensive Arts Planning Process (CAPP) five year plan. CAPP planning is guided by a two year grant from the Perpich Center for Arts Education.

7.1. Annual Accountability & Student Literacy Report
Description:
Laura Keller-Gautsch, Jane Holmberg, and Char Myklebust will summarize the annual Professional Learning Community report that provides accountability data particularly with reference to literacy. Sherry Landrud, District Reading Specialist, and Donna Moe, District Read 180 Specialist, will report on the literacy efforts and results this past year.

Description:
Discuss next steps in Bloomington Public Schools withdrawal from Intermediate District 287. The School Board may hold a closed meeting pursuant to Minn. Stat. §13D.5, subd. 3(c) to develop a plan for evaluation of the district’s real and personal property.
