Rick Sansted will share with the board the "206 Points of Pride." The persons being recognized this month are as follows: Alex Rodriguez was selected to participate in the Minnesota Music Educators Association All-State Orchestra and performed at the 2025 MMEA State Conference. The US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association honored Meghan Orgeman with the 2024 Girls’ High School Track & Field Coach of the Year Award for the State of MN. Thirty-six Alexandria Area High School graduates and current students have been named 2024 AP Scholars based on their performance on Advanced Placement (AP) exams. The awards given and students recognized include:

IV.B. APPROVE PAYMENT OF BILLS FOR JULY 2024

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Because of the many year-end accounting adjustments and entries that need to be made, the financial reports for July 2024 will be presented when the number accurately reflects fiscal year 2024-2025 activities. The listing of bills for payment is the last attachment to this agenda. RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends the board approve the payment of bills for July 2024. |

Personnel recommendations are made monthly. The conditional offers of employment are subject to successful completion of a criminal background check and I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification, and where applicable, the issuance of the required license. IV.J. ADOPT SCHOOL BOARD POLICIES - IMMEDIATE ADOPTION

Pursuant to Policy 208, Article IV.D., a policy that is modified because of a legal change over which the school board has no control may be approved at one meeting at the discretion of the school board. The following policies contain legal revisions reflective of laws enacted in the 2024 Minnesota Legislative Session:
RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends the board adopt Policies 425, 503, 509, 512, 513, 515, 516, 521, 532, 535, 601, 604, 608, 609, 613, 620, 624 and 802. |

The following pages provide a summary of changes to the 2024-2025 Student Handbooks for the Early Education Center, six elementary schools, Discovery Middle School and Alexandria Area High School. The Curriculum/Policy Committee has reviewed the handbooks and approves the revisions. RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends the board adopt the 2024-2025 Student Handbooks as presented. |

VI.D. ADOPT RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE ELECTION OF SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS AND CALLING THE SCHOOL DISTRICT GENERAL ELECTION

The following pages provide the resolution and notice related to the November 5, 2024 school board general election. The resolution establishes the opportunity to utilize a general election to elect school board members based upon the number affidavits of candidacy filed and directs the district to publish and post the required notices. These documents are required by law. RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends that the board adopt the Resolution and Notice as presented. |
