Description:
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Rick Sansted will share with the board the "206 Points of Pride." The persons being recognized this month are: The 6th grade Math Masters regional competition was held recently. Zack Frisell placed 1st in the fact drill competition, while Levi Preston took 1st in the individual round. 8th grader, Mia Black, won the 2022 Scholastic Awards for Art & Writing and was presented with the Gold Key for her work called ‘Lamb in Photography.’ Community Education’s Alexandria Area Gymnastics teams competed in the Midwest Amateur Gymnastics Association Division Championships in March. The AAG Team White placed 3rd in Division 6. The AAG Team Red placed 3rd in Division 4. Coach Kathryn Freeman was named Coach of the Year for Division 4. Erik Hedstrom scored his 1,000th career point in the February 25th basketball game vs. St. Cloud Apollo. Wrestlers Kelly Johnson and Cole Vatnsdal made the Section 8AA Wrestling All-Academic Team, while the entire Wrestling Team was recognized as a Minnesota Wrestling Coaches Association (MWCA) Gold Academic Team with a 3.68 GPA. In other wrestling news, Mason McGrane took 1st place and Blaze Nelson took 2nd in their respective weight classes at sections. Both went on to compete at the State Tournament. The Boy’s Hockey Team won the section championship and earned a trip to the State Tournament, where they took 4th place. Boy’s Hockey players Josiah Gronholz, Pieter Mulder and Teagan Pfeffer were selected to play on the All Section - First Team, while Brycen Berg and Tyler Kludt were All Section - Honorable Mention. Josh Meyers was named the Section 6A Boys Hockey Head Coach of the Year. The Boy’s Swimming & Diving Team wrapped up their season with a multitude of celebrations:
