V.A. Truth in Taxation Presentation
Presenter:
Christopher Kampa
Description:
The School Board approved the preliminary 2022 payable 2023 property tax levy in September.
The school district certified the preliminary property tax levy to the State and County. School districts are required to present a Truth in Taxation presentation by December 28, 2022. This presentation must include budget and proposed property tax levy information with explanations of changes to the property tax levy. There must also be a time for the public to approach the school board to make comments on the property tax levy. After presenting a truth in taxation presentation, school districts are required to certify the final 2022 payable 2023 property tax levy at the December board meeting, which is scheduled for December 15, 2022. The final levy cannot be more than the preliminary levy. |
