  • Arising out of a dispute with the insurance carrier regarding a claim on the policy.
• Proposed Counsel
  • Lubel Voyles LLP has extensive experience representing school districts throughout Texas.
• Relationship
  • There is no prior relationship between the District and Lubel Voyles LLP.
• District's Experience and Budget Constraints
  • The District has no prior experience with legal matters of this nature.
  • The District does not have the necessary budget funds to hire law firms to provide similar services on an hourly basis.
• Contingency Relationship
  • The District believes that a contingency relationship is the most economically prudent decision.
  • Under a contingency arrangement, the District will not be out of pocket for any legal fees and/or case expenses.

 

VI.M. Discuss and consider approval to file suit regarding an insurance claim as
recommended by the Superintendent [Dr. Deana Steeber]

VII. EXECUTIVE SESSION: Executive Session will be held for the purpose of consideration of matters for which closed or executive sessions are authorized by Title 5, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, Section (.071), (.072), (.074), (.076)

VII.A. Pursuant to Texas Government Code Sections 551.071, private consultation with the board’s attorney.
 

VII.B. Pursuant to Texas Government Code Section 551.072, to deliberate the purchase, exchange, lease, or value of real property as deliberation in an open meeting would have a detrimental effect on the position of the District in negotiations with a third person.
